Help with Jewish burial worldwide
Funeral Arrangements and Flights
ZAKA volunteers provide assistance with every aspect related to honoring the dead in Israel and overseas; assistance in finding a solution to bureaucratic problems, approvals, arranging flights home and transferring bodies between countries. In many cases, families of bereaved relatives contact ZAKA Israel or the local ZAKA branch, requesting assistance in legal or bureaucratic issues related to the burial or repatriation of their loved ones. Thanks to ZAKA's extensive network of contacts around the world and ZAKA's ability to react immediately to these time-sensitive requests, in most cases the families find a positive and empathetic response to their problems.
ZAKA Legal Department
The ZAKA legal department assists families on a volunteer basis in their hour of need in every case that involves honoring the dead. This could include legal action to prevent autopsies or desecration, filing injunctions with the courts, cutting through bureaucracy and dealing with the relevant legal authorities in order to shorten the time before the funeral. All the lawyers volunteering in the ZAKA Legal Department are specialists who have gained much experience in dealing with these matters.
